XBOX 360 V.S. PLAYSTATION 3

ok so as many of you know i am and idiot to the game industry and i like others buy most all consoles i have all new systems xbox playstation and nintendo put out. so lets get the Wii out of the way so we can talk about that in another blog - 

which one do i start with….ill flip a coin heads ps3 tails 360 – Tails it is

so i decided one day to trade all my original xbox games in for store credit and buy and xbox 360 and yes i had that many games- so im super excited cause i can finally play halo 3 a game i have liked since its release on the original system – so take my xbox home and i turn it on and it boots im so fucking excite…….BLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP it goes dead a high pich bleep went over my tv and i get 3 rings of death. no 5 min connected to my tv and the damn thing DIES on me – so im so pist and i call the store and demanded i get my full amount back – before i bought it i was told by the worker that it was tested in another store for 3 hrs and sent to slc and tested for 45 min – … back to my story when i called and told her and demanded my money back or least money in store credit i was told that she could only do a portion of it. WTF…<—— i am so mad luckily i called Microsoft and they are fixing it under the new rrod(rings of death) warrant ok so im good with that so i send it off and alas 3 and a half weeks later i get a Xbox 360 to play – i turn it on hoping to what ever god there must be to let me play and well the system worked so far. 

and now im playing halo 3 on Rca jacks on my Giant 46 inch lcd 1080p tv and i look and there is no HDMI Cable so no hi def…that sucks… ok so now that i have this im looking online and just about everything cost points – i havent sat down and seen which is worse pocket wise ps3 or 360 and 360 has nothing really of interest to watch or buy for that matter - 

now xbox with the new dash board the make you update has a feature that you can watch Netflix on there but here is the catch – pay for online service – pay for netflix and you have to have the gold membership or it wont work.

but if you are a slave to online gaming then you can benefit from not only netflix but playing your fav games online and it has other perks you can buy movies and download them to your HDD which you need to purchase a bigger drive and they are not cheap. and you can watch oxm movies about current games and such. 

so i would give Xbox 8 out of 10 

 

Now for Playstation 3

after hearing the horror stories about 360 and ps3 being so expensive… so right before my son was born i took that check that Prez bush gave us and bought me a ps3 and a few games - 

i would have to say this was a great day – i have never imagined that a console could do so much at the time when i bought it in early 08 i didnt have a hdd tv i had a little box and even on that the games looks smooth as hell – the quality was the best i have ever seen, Playing online which might i add is FREE you can play just about any game that is online compatible – shortly after my son was born we got the tv i mentioned before and i got an hdmi cable and it was even better than before. there in my opinion is no better console not to mention its each game is on a bluray disc which allows more things to be put on and better quality for even the simplest games. and the audio is great too. now thats not it.

SCEA has decided to put the option of upgrading your HDD and not void warranty and you can put another operating system on it. now if you try and mod sony is restricting access to graphics card which is causing issues with modding the system but why ruin a good thing – you have a chance of killing your expensive machine. 

you have a feature called pshome which you can move around in Game like community and talk with others and shop and buy things, watch movies etc, kind of like a high resolution super interactive sims

so in all there are far better games on ps3 than xbox 360, with exception to exclusive titles that are actually fun to play – ie gears of war – fable – halo and others. 

sony playstation 3 i give 10 out of 10
